Kape Chino: That Wonderful Coffee Shop in Malacanang!

Kape Chino @ San Miguel, Manila

I have eaten in two restaurants located within the Malacanang area. One is the very intimate La Cocina De Tita Moning where a good friend married her Canadian boyfriend. And the other one is Kape Chino (Casa Roces) with Tita N and Isabel.

The Cravings Group has "re-interpreted" old recipes and came up with a wonderful culinary experience. The coffee shop, named after Joaquin “Chino” Roces, boasts of a well-maintained heritage house, professional servers and yes, unforgettable food.

Lamb Kaldereta (P520)
Slow stewed lamb shoulder cooked in
spicy tomato sauce and risotto
Our group's favorite!
Just love risotto!

Pate De Pescado
Warm, creamy pate topped with black caviar & served with toasted baguette

Bacalao Caviar (P425)
Salt cod and potato
Salmon Mousse (P295)
Salmon puree with a hint of Pommery mustar

Personally, I enjoyed the Bacalao Caviar more than the Salmon Mousse.
I liked the saltiness and how it bites the tongue.

Pescado en Salsa Verde (P345)
Baked fish fillet served with salsa verde and mashed potato

Fettuccine with Bleu Cheese &
Roasted Mushrooms (P185)
Bleu cheese & sliced mushroom on top of creamy fettuccine

Chicken Adobo Confit (P285)
Oven-baked o chicken supreme served with salsa verde & rich adobo sauce
We recommend that you skip this dish.
It lacks flavor ad character.

Malacanan Frozen Souffle (P390)
Frozen lemon custard souffle with dark chocolate flakes,
pistachio nuts & lemon lavender sauce
Perfect way to end your meal!

 Basilica (P165)
Basil, dalandan and lemon juice

    1. You know, I bought my Canon camera almost a year ago and only a few days ago kong natutunan ang mga features! hahaha! You know us, old people, we're such technophobes! As of Kape Chino, don't forget to order the Lamb Kaldereta and the Souffle! They're too die for! And yes, totoo ang sinabi when traveling. You don't actually spend in your room. I also stayed in a dorm in Davao. :)
