Ryzza Mae, Mag-Exercise Tayo Tuwing Umaga!

Funny!

Ryzza Mae, Maganda Ang Gising!

We just love seeing Ryzza Mae waking up! Inosenteng-inosente ang mukha! And you will see from the video na natural na masayahin, magalang at mabuting bata si Aleng Maliit na hindi nawawala sa kanya kahit bagong gising pa man! She's one amazing girl!

Laoag City: Bagnet Pizza!

C & E Pasta! Pizza!
Laoag City

Bagnet Pizza

When I'm in a new city, it has customary for me to go around and "explore" eating places. They don't have to be famous nor basta may character.

Like this C & E Pizza! Pasta! We accidentally saw this place while looking (actually, we we're lost) for Macy's Diner (which caught my attention going home to San Nicolas coming from the Wind Farm in Burgos).

It's a cute, colorful affair with a server who brought me a bottle of cold San Mig Light instead of Coke Light (Coke Zero kasi ang alam niya). It took them forever to serve my Bagnet Pizza but all is forgiven kasi okay naman ang pizza. Well, the crust tasted like it was SM Hypermarket-bought but the combination of bagnet, seaweed and cheese toppings were surprising good. So, can I say that pizza here is better than the Pinakbet Pizza of Herencia's?

Ryzza Mae: "Bakit Ganyan Ang Short Mo, Nakalawlaw??"

But being an obedient daughter, sinunod naman niya ang Mommy Riza niya. Hinila nya nang hinila ang shorts pataas! Successful ba siya?

Laoag City: HI-BOL!

Macy's Diner
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte

Hi-Bol (P90)

It's my first time to try Ilocos Norte's trademark dish (Laoag City, specifically), Hi-Bol which is Beef Paksiw with Noodles. I was studying Macy's Diner (which I just chanced upon, on the way home from the Bangui Wind Farm) menu when this particular item caught my attention.

Did I like it? Well, it was raining that afternoon when we came to the diner and I thought that a soupy meal would be a wise choice. I don't particularly enjoy Paksiw what with its strong flavor but the steaming broth (with the noodles) did me some good.

Ryzza Mae, Ayaw Magpakita??

Pero, maglipas noon ay back to her usual masaya at makulit self! Good morning, Ryzza!

Alex III Breakfast: Corned Beef Guisado!

Central, QC
#926-1266

Corned Beef Guisado (P189)
Served with two eggs (any style),
Garlic Rice, Fresh Banana and your choice
of Brewed Coffee, Hot Chocolate or Juice

Of all the Alex III branches, the one in Matalino Street, Quezon City opens the earliest. They offer the Good Morning Set, a menu of complete breakfast items (two eggs, garlic rice, fresh banana and your choice of coffee, hot chocolate or juice).

I had the Corned Beef Guisado and thick, hot chocolate (at 8am!) to wake me up that cold, sleepy morning.

Ilocos Norte: Herencia's Pinakbet Pizza!

Herencia's Restaurant
Paoay, Ilocos Norte

Pinakbet Pizza (P395)

I've heard about Herencia's Pinakbet Pizza from other bloggers and promised myself to look for it once I get back to Ilocos Norte. Well, I did. After taking my friend to the Paoay Church, we (excitedly?) trooped to Herencia's which is located right in front.

Well, the Pinakbet Pizza has very good crust... thin and crunchy. Cheese was generous but somehow I was looking for that particular Pinakbet kick. There was none. Sure, the veggies were there but well... Anyway, I still enjoyed the pizza though I was tempted to ask for garlic and to baptize it, Cheese and Garlic Pizza.

Ryzza Mae: "Ano'ng Gusto Mo?"

Do you remember playing this during your younger days? And our Aleng Maliit is no exception!

Ilocos Norte: Jumbo Plate!

Jumbo Plate
Robinsons Ilocos Norte

I ate my first meal in Ilocos Norte at Robinsons (Balai Condominium is just a five minute walk). Honestly, I didn't make any special arrangements in Manila as to where to eat on my one-week stay. I didn't ask around nor read other blogs. I wanted to try small "eateries" that do not exert any effort to be extra-ordinarily visual. I just want to eat good food. No frills.

Giniling with Corn

Jumbo Plate had the simplest spread. And we liked it. The Giniling had corn (yes!) and celery (yes!) and no diced carrots and potatoes (but it had raisins and guisantes). We had it with Menudo (with the usual hotdog cubes) and a plastic glass of whitish palamig. All (we had to pay extra for the Chao Fan) for P110. Sulit ba?

Ryzza Mae: The Sleeping Little Beauty!

Dumating kami sa artists' entrance sa Broadway Centrum around 10:00am and decided to meet Aleng Maliit. Sshhh...

Ryzza Mae: "Pa-rang... Pa-rang... Pa-rang...!"

Kolehiyala?
We didn't notice it while we were shooting this video. Napansin na lang namin while reviewing and editing the raw materials. At ano ang napansin namin? Aba!

Alex III Meryenda: DINUGUAN!

Alex III Resto-Grille

Dinuguan (P279)
served with Rice or Puto

It's one of Pinoys' favorite meryendas (well, it's one of mine!)! Alex III's recipe for Dinuguan calls for Siling Mahaba (the ones used for Sinigang) and maasim na suka!  And don't forget the moist puto!  Perfect meryenda!

Churros!

Churreria La Lola
Power Plant Mall

Churros

I remember that we used to go to Dulcinea just pig-out on churros many moons back. And we still do. Now, Churreria La Lola came out with their own. Bigger, fatter. Do I like their churros better? Their chocolate is watery unlike Dulcinea's which is very thick. I guess, naumay lang ako.

Churreria La Lola: Canario & Mallorquin!

Canario (P275)

Super late post. But the food is so good (and affordable!) that I felt that it would have been unfair not to blog La Lola even after a few months have already passed. Anyway, I liked the sandwiches but I put down more points for Canario while Tita Nelia ("Cook It My Way!") preferred Mallorquin.
