Alex III Breakfast: French Toast!

Matalino St., QC
926-1266

French Toast (P129)

I didn't expect to come across French Toast in the Alex III menu. But I was pleasantly surprised to see the item in the menu (only the Matalino Street branch carry the breakfast menu). I ordered it with Hot Chocolate (another favorite) which goes well with French Toast.

The Alex III version has this slightly crispy texture (which is good) and the hint of cinnamon and milk add to the over-all appeal. Question: How about an Alex III Pancake? Better yet, an Eggs Benedict?

This Hot Chocolate goes well with French Toast. Thick and sweet.

Alex III: Lengua with Mushroom Gravy!

Lengua with Mushroom Gravy (P339)

I grew up eating Lengua with Mushroom Gravy. My mom would cook it often and would always include it in the buffet menu (there was a time when she would have her friends come over to the house every weekend to dance away... way past their bedtime!). Alex III's version is so like my mom's (and her caterer's) and that's saying a lot: lutong bahay, walang tinipid.

Alex III: Pork Ribs Binagoongan!

Alex III Restaurant
Tomas Morato, QC

Pork Ribs Binagoongan (P359)

Only one complaint when eating Binagoongan (and I've eaten quite a number of versions)... they have the tendency to be salty (some, really salty!). It's the bagoong they use.

Alex III's Pork Ribs Binagoongan is far from being salty. The bagoong is tempered without losing its strong flavor. The cherry tomatoes (a touch I liked!) added a bit of sweetness which helped in counterbalancing the saltiness.

Alex III: Green Mango Shake!

Green Mango Shake

I was right in ordering for a glass of Green Mango Shake with my Pork Ribs Binagoongan. The sharp sour taste went well with the bagoong (manga at bagoong, diba?).
