Korean Food at its Best!

Korean Food by Let's Cook My Way!

It was one of Tita Nelia Sison Silverio's (contact number: 09088211778) most challenging (and stressful!) cooking classes. She admitted to me that Korean food demands patience... kilos and kilos of it. I saw the stress on her face as she was demonstrating to the class. But it was stress that challenged her to come up with heavenly-tasting food and their stunning presentation. As an admiring student commented as serving platters were marching in from the kitchen: "how can I eat this... it's too beautiful!"

Well, see for yourself.

Korean Spread:
Cucumber Apple Pickle
Romaine Salad with Korean Dressing
Dajjim (Braised Chicken with Vegetables and Noodles)
Saury Kkongchijorim (Fish)

Authentic Korean Barbecue from SSG!

Seoul Sootbool Galbi in Makati

It was recommended to us (my Tita & I) by Stefanie, our hair stylist/owner of a Korean Salon. The place is located in “Korean Town” (or Koreatown) in Makati… one of the less appealing streets of Makati Ave where men expectorate unabashedly and who define their existence by not wearing upper garments. But one forgets all these "unpleasantness" as he tries and (eventually) falls in love with the restaurant's unforgettable Korean Barbecue!

Chicken marinated in sweet-spicy sauce

Thinly-sliced beef

Getting ready...

Hot charcoal

Green leafy vegetables to wrap your chicken or beef

Just not possible to eat everything in sight...
though I wanted to

I tried everything

It takes practice to roll a good one...
Next time!
