Ming Kee's Hainanese Chicken & Rice!

Ming Kee Live Seafood
7852 Makati Avenue
Makati City

Hainanese Chicken & Rice

"It is a dish adapted from the early Chinese immigrants originally from the Hainan province in Southern China and is now considered one of the national dishes of Singapore.

The chicken is prepared in the traditional Hainanese methods which involve steeping the entire chicken at sub-boiling temperature in a pure chicken bone stock, reusing the broth over and over and only topping it with water when needed. The creates a superior stock that is used to prepare the Hainese Rice.

The dish is served with traditional sauces: Singaporean hot chili, dark chili, dark soy sauce and minced ginger."

Yes, Tao Yuan's Peanuts are Addictive!

Tao Yuan Restaurant @ Malate

I have posted photos (and comments) about Tao Yuan a few times in Facebook. It's one of our (Tita Nelia of Let's Cook My Way and I) favorite eating haunts (the others: Cibo, CPK, Alexia's Deli). We feel good about these places... the food, the people.

If Cibo has it's potato crisps (to the waiters: keep them coming!), Tao Yuan has it's peanuts (more! more!). We just love those warm, still crunchy peanuts wading in their brownish "juice."

Shhh... we tried talking to the waiters and to one of the kitchen staff (Tao Yuan, Resorts World) about the peanuts. You think we got what we wanted? Think again. Loyal subjects... off with your heads!

Never Disappoints!

Wee Nam Kee @ Ayala Trangle

We have eaten at Wee Nam Kee a couple of times (different branches). It's one of those restaurants that you know you'll leave your table satisfied.  Their chicken never disappoints.

We ordered for Cereal Prawns (4 pcs/P375), Kangkong (P180) and of course, Lemon Chicken (P245).

It was good lunch... as expected.
