Lumpiang Shanghai (P179)
I get disappointed everytime I attend an intimate potluck and not see a Tupperware (lately, potluckers have graduated to Reynold's disposable aluminum pans with Glad Wrap and a bottle of Sweet Chili Sauce) of Lumpiang Shanghai. A salu-salo is just not complete without Shanghai.
I've seen all kinds... long, thin Shanghai; bite-sized Shanghai; stubby Shanghai; chopped Shanghai on top of Pancit; and the list goes on. Alex III's version naman is perfectly rolled, golden brown and the ground pork filling is not dry (which is the tendency of food that's been deep fried). Try it with Java Rice.
Now, you know where to run to the next time your family calls for a salu-salo.
