Ryzza Mae, Endless Picture-Picture with Fans!

Waitaminute! Akala ko magpo-pose ang ating Aleng Maliit with her fans at hindi siya ang kukuha ng picture? Bakit parang siya ang photographer??? Hmmm... what happened? Well, the questions will be answered when you watch the 3-minute behind-the-scenes at sasabihin kong tatawa kayo ng tatawa! The popular Mr. Joey Generoso of Side A Band and his friends were having so much fun with Ryzza Mae sa backstage right after show and as usual, aaliwan na naman kayo ng OMG! 2013 Child Star with her usual amusing and cute antics!

Borough @ Podium

Tita Nelia has been telling me about this place in Podium (open 24/7!) which is partly-owned by one of ABS-CBN's stars, Jake Cuenca. She's been saying good things about it and being a big fan of her culinary prowess, the more I obsess in visiting Borough. The thing is, I'm not a Podium fan and to go there is a humongous hassle for me. Then, we had a Cinemalaya marathon recently, and came out of our last movie close to midnight. So, may chance na. Together with one of her best friends, Maryanne Gomez, we excitedly trooped to Borough.   

I was not disappointed. Totoo palang masarap dito. I ordered for the Chocolate Chicken Wings(P280). The menu says: Baked Wings with with Cocoa and Cinnamon and served with Cilantro Sauce. You might not like the way it looks, black and all, but I tell you that it's one fine chicken dish! It's tender, juicy and the skin, deliciously bitter! And the sauce? Perfect!

e come to the star of the table. Tita Nelia and Tita Maryanne have been praising this  Popcorn Calamari (P280) to the high heavens that I consider it a mortal sin to go home without eating it. Yes,  the Popcorn-crusted Fried Squid with Clarified Chili Butter is good. The texture I enjoyed and it's a bit on the oily side but I ask you... who cares, really?

Ryzza Mae is Everybody's Baby!

Yup! She's definitely everybody baby! Anybody can see that before, during and after The Ryzza Mae Show at EB kung gaano siya inaalagaan ng buong staff. Makakita sa ating behind-the-scenes videos how people are protective of her. They hold Aleng Maliit's hand, they put her on her lap, they carry her around kagaya na lang sa dalawang videos dito that were taken right after her show as she walked to the backstage to the dressing room.

Ryzza Mae, Tito Kempee and Fried Chicken!

After an episode of The Ryzza Mae Show, she was brought straight to the dining area ng mga hosts ng EB. Naiwang nakabukas ang pinto ng kwarto yun and I decided to take her video. She was given a script to study and I was getting inside the room nang binigyan na siya ng lunch ng mga waiters. And guess kung ano ang ulam niya? Well, fried chicken (my all-time favorite!). Anyway, Ryzza Mae was given a small bowl of catsup pero mas gusto niya ang toyo with kalamansi. Wala si Mommy Risa nung araw na yun so, the EB staff took care of her. Actually, she is naturally independent kaya kayang-kaya niya to do things for herself! By the way, dito namin nakita ang natural na ugali ni Ryzza Mae. Nag-mano siya kay Tito Keempee ng dumating ito at kumakaway pa siya sa kunsino ang bumati sa kanya kahit sumusubo ng pagkain. Aside from being very talented ay talagang magalang at mabuting bata ang ating Aleng Maliit!  

 

Getting Senti with RC!

I clearly remember my simple childhood when my family used to stay in an apartment in Scout Santiago in QC (before 1972 when we transferred to our first real house). My three sisters and I would do just about everything for hours on end in our one-car garage . Like clockwork, we took our siesta til 4pm when yaya would wake all four kids and would take us to a dining table filled with sumptuous meryenda and yes, cold, cold (sweating!) cola. 

Iba-iba ang binibiling softdrinks ni yaya nun. Kung ano ang meron tindahan na malamig na malamig na Family Size (yun ang tawag sa 1 liter na softdrinks during that time). And one of the brands yaya would buy for us was RC (but I don't remember seeing a Family Size RC). What I clearly recall is seeing four small-sized RC on the table sweating as plastic straws of different colors bobbing up and down because of the effervescent cola.    

At color-coding ang straws namin! I get the blue one, of course. While my sister fight over the pre-assigned straws, I quietly played with my blue straw and watched bubbles trying to escape via the narrow bottle neck. 

Taon ang binilang nang malaman kong Royal Crown pala ang RC. At taon din nang hindi ko nakita at na-inom ang RC. Hindi naman daw nawala, tahimik lang. They're just on the sidelines waiting to be "revived." Good thing, maingay na naman ang RC Cola. 

Question: When are they coming out with a sugar-free RC Cola???

Ryzza Mae: Lights, Camera, Action!

From being the youngest (and the smallest) host on Television, ay nagbabalak namang maging youngest (ang smallest) director ang ating si Ryzza Mae??? Actually, sa ating behind-the-scenes video ay makikitang pinaglalaruan ng OMG! 2013 Child Star Winner ang megaphone (ginagamit ng mga directors noong araw) during the commercial break ng kanyang show kunsaan ay guest niya si Direk Joyce Bernal. Nakaka-aliw! 

Fruity SLICE in a Bottle!

The first time I heard about Zest-O Slice, I immediately thought of canned sliced fruits like peaches and pineapples in thick syrup. Another food product you drown in all-purpose cream and serve chilled. I was quite surprised to know that Zest-O is (finally) getting into the business category where Del Monte and Dole have been lording over since time immemorial.   

Well, I was wrong. Hindi pala ganun ang Zest-O Slice. Good. Another player in the ready-to-drink category (actually, the same people who have been doing the same thing all these years). And I say, the people who have been doing the job quite well. 

Batang Zest-O ako. If I remember right, I was in my teens when my mommy started buying these weird-looking orange juice packed in foil (which I found out later on that they're called "doy packs"). Fast forward... And now, they have Zest-O Slice in pet bottles.   

When you drink Slice, it's like eating a fresh slice of your favorite fruit (Dalandan, Orange, Mango and Strawberry AND Apple and Grape). I tried all four iced and straight out of the chiller. The winner? Hands down... its CHILLED DALANDAN!   

Question... Are they "doy packs" in bottles? Not really. For one, bitin ang doy packs. Zest-O Slice comes in 355 ml na parang isang can ng cola. Tamang-tama lang siya. Hindi bitin, walang tapon. Secondly, mas concentrated ang lasa nito. At may mixed fruit drinks dito. And lastly, have I mentioned that SLICE is a good source of Vitamin A, C, E and Zinc that helps boost the immune system? Yes, that's good news no?   

SLICE, SLICE Baby!

Of all the four ZEST-O Slice flavors, I like Dalandan (the others: Orange, Grapple, and Mango Burst, a mix of Grape with Apple and Mango with Strawberry, respectively) the most. This is most unusual considering that I only drink Mango and Orange juice drinks. No reason. Its just that I'm a cola drinker and all beverage laced with chocolate. 

Going back. Dalandan Slice has that real Dalandan smell and aftertaste. Para kang nagbalat ng totoong Dalandan saka mo kinain. Its not too sweet and best of all, has only 90 calories per bottle of 355 ml. Good, no? 

Next... Mango Burst. Its my first time to drink Mango juice with Strawberry. The mixture is not bad. While the Mango is sweet and the slightly tart Strawberry compliments it perfectly. And then, there's the Orange Slice. I'm actually considering baking Spare Ribs with it. It has this concentrated taste that's good for cooking meat with.   

With that, let's sing (to the tune of Vanilla Ice's Ice, Ice, Baby) the groovy tagline while sipping on a pet bottle of chilled ZEST-O Slice...  SLICE, SLICE, BABY! SLICE, SLICE, BABY! SLICE, SLICE, BABY! 

Ryzza Mae, Doing a Shampoo Commercial???

From doing a funny Mr. Donuts commercial ngayon ay shampoo commercial naman ang ginagawa ng ating OMG! 2013 Child Star Winner??? Well, she can always endorse any shampoo brand pero so far, wala pa. Its just that meron nang amusing habit ngayon ang ating Aleng Maliit who plays with her beautiful hair na parang dalagang-dalaga! Here are two behind-the-scene videos with Direk Joyce Bernal kunsaan para siyang nagkaroon ng short rock concert on stage!  

Ryzza Mae, Hwag Magulo!

We can see how Ryzza Mae is so obedient to her Mommy Risa. She is such a good daughter! Kahit gustung-gusto nang mag-drawing na isa sa kanyang pastimes ay inaabot pa rin niya ang mga daliri niya sa kanyang mommy na matiyagang nagpuputol ng kanyang kuko. Yun lang... medyo magulo pa rin ng konti. Our OMG! 2013 Child Star Awardee is just being a little girl, diba?
