Mad For Garlic @ BGC
Tita Nelia and I decided to try out the new restaurants in The Fort the day we took her childhood friend from Texas whom she hasn't seen for a long time. As we were cluelessly cruising 30th Street corner 9th Avenue, we chanced upon a this interesting restaurant... Mad For Garlic. Reminded us of Krazy Garlic in Greenbelt 5 which we used to frequent (not anymore). We excitedly got off the car, headed to the beautifully designed place that serve Italian-Korean and ordered immediately.
The Grilled Chicken with Mushroom (P395), a Risotto dish cooked with three kinds of mushroom topped with grilled chicken is the best of the lot.
You would easily reach your garlic overload after having Dracula Killer (P195) as your appetizer. Believe me. This dish of fried garlic in olive oil with anchovies and garlic bread can actually kill three vampires effortlessly.
The Insalata di Mare (P595) was one dish we didn't much enjoy. We wanted fish but we were told that they don't have any so we just settled with this. What, no fish? Yes, no fish. How can that be? The Kitchen Manager (their version of a Chef) Winkee Chong approached our table and tried to explain why. Actually, I didn't care much for the explanation. It's enough that I know that they don't serve fish and that the Italian-Korean fusion is one confused concept (their version, at least).
