Panda Ice Cream Haus @ Dumaguete City
Panda Ice Cream Haus is one popular dessert place (Sans Rival is the most popular) in Dumaguete City. Everybody knows about it from the front office lady of our hotel (Bethel Guest House) to the tricycle (I mean, multicab) drivers.
The place was packed with students with their barkadas, families and office workers (in uniform) most of which were eating the fried ice cream with some meryenda food. I noticed that some were eating spaghetti and others, sandwiches. Nope. we weren't planning to eat those in the Panda Ice Cream Haus. We were there to have the fried ice cream.
I remember having Green Tea fried ice cream (was it in Kimono Ken?) and I enjoyed it. The bread was not too think and the ice cream, still solid. I was expecting that here. But that's not the case. The batter was really thick and you can see for yourself the state of the ice cream. It was melting. No... it's almost liquid.
I tried all of their "sellers" from their Soya Chocolate Juice to the ice cream cake. Okay lang naman. Actually, I can eat them here in Manila pero iba yung nakain mong brand na considered to be a "classic" in Dumaguete City. Bragging rights for this foodie.
fried ice cream fail. i didn't see this dessert place when i was there last year. sansrival took over the dessert scene in the city i guess..
ReplyDeleteHello! How are you? Well, the Panda Ice Cream Haus wasn't that exciting in the first place. I just needed to "experience" their Panda which is a big thing out there. About Sans Rival... did you really like it? The texture yes, but it wasn't really out of the ordinary. Bragging points lang naman, diba? ;) Try the fried ice cream over at Kimono Ken (I think). Its good.
