They will be known as BATANG PIER, their monicker… The newest Team to join the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) with Coach Glenn Capacio and BJ Manalo as Team Manager.
Aside from having a meet-and-greet and photo op session with media at the Multi-Purpose Hall in Manila Harbour Centre last September 26, the Global Port Team also played “big brother” for a day to a number of Gawad Kalinga Kids who were the event’s special guests. The basketball players shared Jollibee meal with the star-struck kids, had their pictures taken with them, and distributed bags of grocery items for them to take home to their parents. It was indeed a memorable and meaningful afternoon for everyone.
Anyway, Global Port will have their very first game on September 30, 2012 against Ginebra! Don't miss it!
I just like to congratulate them because according to the PBA latest news, they got their first PBA victory against Meralco. Hoping that they will make it again on their next game!
