Kos' Greek Ouzeri
UP Town Center, QC (Phase 1)
Another Blogging Event happened last October 1, 2016 (first one was held on September 28). This time, it was more intimate what with only six bloggers in attendance. The event started at 3:30pm when food masterpieces from the kitchen started lining up in the spread at the middle of Kos Greek Ouzeri which displayed fresh Greek Oregrano and Rosemary with Kos Special Cardamom Iced Tea, Lemonade and Orange Cocktail spiked with Greek Uozo.
Appetizers
Melitsanosalata (roasted eggplant spread)
Tzatziki (yogurt, cucumber dip flavored with garlic, dill,
olive oil and lemon juice)
Hummus (mashed chick peas blended with tahini, olive oil,
lemon juice and garlic)
Artichoke Spinach (mixed artichoke, spinach and cheese dip)
Roasted Cauliflower and Garlic Spread (blended cauliflower
and garlic with minced herbs and spices)
Salad
Kos Salad (mixed green and sundried tomatoes, dried figs, caramelized
nuts, cheese, grapes tossed with honey-grape vinaigrette
Soup
Bourou Bouro (vegetable soup with croutons)
Pasta
Pastitsio (layered tube pasta with meat and tomato sauce
topped with béchamel sauce)
Arni me Kritharkia (lamb meatballs served with orzo pasta
cooked in tomato sauce)
Main Course
Chicken Souvlaki (skewered meat served with roasted
vegetables, yogurt, and garlic sauce and red bell pepper sauce)
Lamb Fricasse (lamb cubes braised with white onions, ouzo,
leeks, lettuce and potatoes)
Dessert
Loukomades (fried dough bathed in sweet syrup and sprinkled
with cinnamon and walnuts)
Galakto (Greek custard in pyllo sheets covered with honey
syrup)
Drinks
Kos Iced Tea (flavored lemon iced tea with Greek cardamom
garnished with lemon slice)
Tarragon Lemonade (freshly squeezed lemon added with a hint
tarragon sprig with syrup garnished with lemon slice)
Swedish Chef Mats Loo was present until the end of the event to guide the taste buds of the Bloggers. Meaning, he was there to deepen the level of appreciation of the six writers who were invited to embark on a wonderful ride into the Greek Food Experience!
